As parents we dreamed of a space just for the two of us as a couple. The house we bought had the oppurtunity to add another floor according to the urban planning. As in every big city it is always a good investment to create extra living space so we created another floor on top of our house.
I designed an open plan space with the vibes of a chique hotel suite. The color scheme was based on the inherited golden curtains and yellow fabric of our bed in combination with the grey surface of the building.
To make sure it feels like a sunny place whatever the weather conditions are outside I choose to paint the concrete floor in bright yellow.
It now has a very peacefull vibe and helps us to release the stress of the day and connect to ourselves and each other.
The views from the big windows are stunning because of the Dutch skies and the trees in the street.
The family Kuiper has bought an old house in France to make it their family home combined with an appartment for rental. The house is surrounded by a big garden and has a seperate garage. They renovate it themselves and get it functional for family living according to the standards of the 21st century.
